Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to chair National Committee for the Commemoration of 125th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (14th November, 2014 - 14th November, 2015)

The Govt. of India has decided to commemorate w.e.f. 14th November, 2014 the 125th Birth Anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India. A National Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh to consider policies and lay down guidelines for the commemoration events. Ministry of Culture is the nodal ministry for carrying out activities related to the Commemoration. 

The first meeting of the National Committee is likely to be convened shortly, which will also constitute National Implementation Committee to monitor the implementation of the projects and programmes during the Commemoration of the 125th Birth Anniversary of Pt. Nehru.
