The session discussed the role of women parliamentarians for social justice and the strengthening of democracy in South Asia. From India, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and Deputy Chairman Rajya Sabha Professor P. J. Kurien are among various parliamentarians attending the three-day conference.
Besides, meeting her counterparts from the SAARC member countries, Mrs. Kumar will also call on President, Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan on the sidelines of the Conference.
