21 MW Khutani mini hydro-power project

Dehradun:(Page Three News Network) Chief Secretary Alok Kumar Jain chaired the 28th Board Meeting of Uttarakhand Infrastructure Projects Company (UIPC) at Secretariat on Tuesday.
It was apprised in the meeting that Letter of Agreement has been issued for construction of Yamunotri Ropeway and Purnagiri Ropeway and clearance
has been obtained for them. Selection of undertaking agency had been made for 21 MW Khutani mini hydro-power project, 11.1 MW Seraghat project and 19.8 MW Balgad project. Approval has also been obtained from Empowered Committee of Union Government for the projects. It was told in the meeting that Government had conducted survey of Western Ramganga and Saryu River Valley through IIT Roorkee. Very soon the construction works of these projects would begin. These projects would generate total 51.9 MW power. Environment clearance had been obtained for Rs. 4.9 crore Surkanda Devi Ropeway project, Rs. 220 crore Dehradun-Mussoorie ropeway project and Rs. 75 crore Hemkund Sahib Ropeway project.Tenders would be completed by November 2012. Besides, UIPC would also render its consultancy service to E-learning Centres of 13 polytechnics, 36 shelters under private participation, Expedition Hostel in Askot at Pithoragarh district 32-bed TRH at Tapovan Chamoli, Eco Hut at Auli and Development of Mussoorie and its traffic management.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Tourism SS Sandhu, Staff Officer to Chief Secretary MC Joshi and other senior officers.
