Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Amrita Rawat has directed the Departmental Officers to give priorities to remote areas while selecting women for state level awards.

Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Amrita Rawat has directed the Departmental Officers to give priorities to remote areas while selecting women for state level awards.
Minister Rawat was reviewing the meeting of the State Level Committee for the awards including Tilu Rauteli Award and Awards for Aganwadi Workers, on Tuesday at Vidhan Sabha Office. She also instructed the officers not to make the selection criteria too complicated and to consider the outstanding works done by them as basis of the selection. She instructed them to select total 22 candidates ensuring atleast one candidate from each district. She said that the criteria for selection should be works done in the field of social service, public awareness, environment conservation, welfare of women and children, health, education and movement against social evils. She asked the officers to request MLAs and Social Workers to suggest two candidates each from their side. She said that the main purpose of the Award was to encourage women to come forward in the society.
The meeting was attended by Committee Chairman Shushila Balooni, Secretary Ajay Nabiyal, Additional Secretary and Director Amit Singh Negi, Project Director ICDS Kamini Gupta, Hemlata Khanduri, Arti Balodi, Dr. Sushma Dutta, Satya Prakash and Dharmendra Payal.
